Though thoughtful, bold, and always curious, Emma's blog is a space for those who love exploring and questioning.

The Author

Welcome

Hi reader, it’s Jan 11th as I am typing this welcome page message, to say to you, welcome to Over/Shadow.

To begin with, why did I name this blog Over/Shadow?

Well, I was working on a guided journal called The Shadow Work Journal, by Keila Shaheen, when I got inspired. I could go on to explain what shadow work is, but that would defeat the purpose of my first blogpost that will seek to explain it.

But, in very brief terms, this blog Over/Shadow is about understanding our shadows, then working to integrate or transcend. I am not yet too sure about the idea of integration, as well, god forbid that someone thinks shadow work is about doing harmful things because, they were told not to. No, I think there are clear moral parameters when it comes to, but here I am biting my hands ’cause I have promised to start the the blog with explaining what shadow work is (it won’t be an easy feat as well, it’s a very spectrumed).

Who is this for?

This blogpost if for me and you. It is not strictly for people who are just doing shadow work. My goal is to create a space on the internet where people who want to muse their minds about growth, not strictly for entertainment (this is more of an an educational community), but to actually use the info to form a skeleton that inspires their behaviours, cognitions and hopefully how they feel about themselves, which will hopefully make the world a little bit more…colourful for them.
